About The Position

At Orchestry, we simplify the complexity of Microsoft 365, designing intuitive solutions that empower users and drive meaningful business outcomes. We're looking for a Junior SDET to join our Engineering team. This role is ideal for someone early in their QA automation career who is ready to build on their foundation and make meaningful contributions to the quality and reliability of our products. You'll work alongside experienced SDET and QA engineers to develop your automation skills, validate new features, and help ensure every release delivers an exceptional customer experience. As a Junior SDET, you'll contribute to both manual and automated testing across our SaaS platform, helping increase test coverage, identify defects early, and improve the overall quality of our software. You'll collaborate closely with developers, Product Managers, and fellow QA engineers throughout the development lifecycle, from feature planning and implementation to validation and release. You're someone who enjoys solving problems, has a passion for software quality, and understands that delivering great user experiences starts with reliable, well-tested applications. You take ownership of your work, learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and continuously build your technical skills in modern testing practices and automation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of software development fundamentals and software quality assurance principles.
  • Experience programming in at least one modern language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, or Python.
  • Familiarity with automated testing concepts and an interest in building automation as part of the software development process.
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar through coursework, personal projects, internships, or previous work experience.
  • Familiarity with source control systems such as Git.
  • Understanding of Agile software development practices is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable learning new tools, technologies, and engineering processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative teammate who values feedback, continuous learning, and helping build quality software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing automated UI or API tests.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience working on personal, academic, or open-source software projects.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and API testing tools.
  • Experience using Playwright, which is the primary automation framework used by our Engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute manual, exploratory, and regression testing for new features and product enhancements.
  • Design, write, maintain, and execute automated test cases using our automation framework.
  • Investigate, reproduce, and document software defects with clear, actionable bug reports.
  • Validate builds and releases through both manual and automated testing.
  • Collaborate closely with Software Developers and QA Engineers throughout feature development and release cycles.
  • Help maintain and improve our automated test suites to increase test coverage and reliability.
  • Learn and apply testing best practices across UI, API, and integration testing.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
  • Contribute to test documentation, test plans, and knowledge sharing within the Engineering team.
  • Build proficiency with our engineering toolchain, including Git, Azure DevOps, Playwright, and related development and testing tools.
  • Continuously improve your understanding of our product, testing processes, and quality engineering practices.
  • Other tasks as required by the team, from time to time.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added as the role evolves based on your interests and our team's needs.
