About The Position

Our Construction Phase Services group assigned to Waterloo, ON construction projects is looking for a Graduate Quality Assurance Inspector to complete inspections as part of a team on Highway, Road and Bridge construction projects. Apply theory and principles of civil engineering in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of structures and facilities under the direction of engineering staff or physical scientists. Requirements

Completion of Civil Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma, or completion of Civil Engineering degree.
0-2 years of experience in related field.
Past experience in construction field work is considered an asset.
Valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence.
Team player, cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain excellent procedural or technical skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
Perform a variety of standard tests requiring a moderate level of judgment.
Perform basic data entry tasks, including data verification.
Assess compliance with established standards and protocols for parts of routine inquiries.
Carry out defined project tasks.
Carry out simple installation tasks, following detailed instructions and working under close supervision to complete the allocated tasks.
Perform basic data reporting tasks to support others by using established procedures.
Organize own work schedule each day in line with changing priorities.
Maintain and repair plant and machinery under close supervision to ensure that operational requirements are met, including conformance with regulatory and organizational health, safety, and environmental standards.
Support others by carrying out simple product development or engineering tasks, such as gathering data or preparing documents. Involves following established procedures.
