About The Position

We are seeking a Junior Python Game Developer with experience in the Panda3D engine to join our remote team. This is a contract position with a duration of 3-6 months, offering flexibility in working hours (20 or 40 hours per week). The role involves leveraging Python and C++ skills to contribute to interactive game development tasks, review and improve code samples and game logic within the Panda3D engine, and provide domain-specific examples to enhance AI understanding of game development workflows. You will analyze challenges in rendering, asset management, and gameplay, document decision-making processes for AI training, and collaborate with a distributed team to deliver high-quality input for future AI technologies. Participation in iterative feedback cycles is also expected.

Requirements

  • Solid hands-on experience with Python programming, especially in game development contexts.
  • Strong understanding of the Panda3D engine and its practical application in creating interactive 3D environments.
  • Familiarity with C++ and its integration within game engines.
  • Proficient in using GitHub for version control, code reviews, and collaboration.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong problem-solving mindset.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience contributing to open-source projects or AI-related initiatives.
  • Knowledge of modern software development practices and pipelines in game development.
