Carilion Clinic is seeking a medical physicist to support proton therapy in its new, state-of-the-art Cancer Center. The Taubman Cancer Center will house advanced radiation therapy equipment, including a Mevion 250i proton therapy unit. This role is focused on the initial ramp-up of proton therapy services, with potential integration into the broader therapy department over time. The clinic is in the early stages of planning for proton therapy needs. New hires will be instrumental in the adoption of proton therapy. The Physics Department is a collaborative team that supports Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and leads radiation safety across the health system. The Roanoke Valley offers a favorable cost of living, abundant outdoor recreation, and various entertainment options.
