About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Junior Project Manager working within the Parks Program Unit. Under the supervision of a Project Manager, with limited latitude for independent judgment and action, the selected candidate will perform entry-level project management work and receive training in senior level project management responsibilities. The selected candidate will also prepare management reports and resolve problems that arise in meeting schedules and assigned budgets.

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.)
  • Original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution
  • Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service
  • A Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college
  • Any other type of architectural degree or a degree in architectural technology is not acceptable

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a project management information system to provide data for the planning and control of project development
  • Establishing project timeframes and cost schedules
  • Determining and coordinating project activities required between the client agencies, contractors, and departments responsible for project completion
  • Reviewing all schedules, reports, and orders prepared by consultants, contractors, and client agencies to assure compliance with project completion dates
  • Checking contractors' work performance via field visits and on-site inspections
  • Prepare management reports
  • Resolve problems that arise in meeting schedules and assigned budgets
