About The Position

The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings, seeks a Junior Project Manager working within the Health Program Unit. Under the supervision of a Project Manager, with limited latitude for independent judgment and action, the selected candidate will perform entry-level project management work and receive training in senior level project management responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.).
  • Must present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution.
  • Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor of Architecture or a Master of Architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a project management information system to provide data for the planning and control of project development.
  • Establishing project timeframes and cost schedules.
  • Determining and coordinating project activities required between the client agencies, contractors, and departments responsible for project completion.
  • Reviewing all schedules, reports, and orders prepared by consultants, contractors, and client agencies to assure compliance with project completion dates.
  • Checking contractors' work performance via field visits and on-site inspections.
  • Preparing management reports.
  • Resolving problems that arise in meeting schedules and assigned budgets.
