About The Position

Alair Homes Alexandria is seeking a Junior Project Manager to join their team and support the delivery of custom homes and residential renovation projects. This role is ideal for a construction professional with hands-on experience who is ready to transition into project management. The Junior Project Manager will work alongside experienced team members to coordinate projects from planning to completion, ensuring organization, clear communication with clients and trade partners, and meticulous tracking of schedules and budgets. The company is looking for an individual with a solid construction foundation, comfort with technology and project management systems, strong communication skills, and a desire for growth within the company.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or a related construction environment
  • Working knowledge of residential construction processes, materials, and sequencing
  • Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software and systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments
  • Practical problem-solving skills and good judgment
  • Willingness to learn and take increasing ownership of projects
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with construction management or project management software is a plus
  • You do not need to be an experienced Project Manager to apply. We are interested in construction professionals who have the foundation, work ethic, organization, and ability to grow into the role.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with the planning and execution of custom homes and residential renovation projects
  • Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, designers, and other project partners
  • Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement, and project documentation
  • Conduct job site visits and help monitor project progress, quality, and schedule
  • Track project details and follow up on outstanding items to keep work moving
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, trade partners, and team members
  • Help identify potential issues and bring them to the attention of the Project Manager before they become larger problems
  • Maintain accurate project information using construction management and digital systems
  • Assist with project meetings, updates, selections, and other client communication
  • Learn Alair's project management processes and develop the skills needed to independently manage projects over time
