About The Position

Alair Homes Alexandria is seeking a Junior Project Manager to support custom home and residential renovation projects in Alexandria and the surrounding Metro DC area. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, this role helps coordinate projects from planning through completion, keeping schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication organized. The position is intended for a construction professional with a solid residential construction foundation who is ready to grow into project management. The successful candidate will learn the company's project management processes, take increasing ownership, and may develop toward independently managing projects over time.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in residential construction, remodeling, or a related construction environment.
• Working knowledge of residential construction processes, materials, and sequencing.
• Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software and systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments.
• Practical problem-solving skills and good judgment.
• Willingness to learn and take increasing ownership of projects.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with construction management or project management software.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with planning and executing custom home and residential renovation projects.
• Help coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, designers, and other project partners.
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement, and documentation.
• Conduct job site visits and help monitor project progress, quality, and schedule.
• Track project details and follow up on outstanding items to keep work moving.
• Communicate professionally with homeowners, trade partners, and team members.
• Identify potential issues and bring them to the Project Manager's attention before they become larger problems.
• Maintain accurate project information using construction management and digital systems.
• Assist with project meetings, updates, selections, and other client communications.
• Learn Alair's project management processes and develop the skills needed to manage projects independently over time.
