About The Position

Junior Project Manager has responsibilities for leading projects on a day-to-day basis. This includes creation of project plans, business cases, design strategies, resource management, budget management, cross-organizational coordination, vendor management, executive communication/reporting, and critical issue resolution and escalations. The junior project manager will rely on senior leadership for general oversight and mentorship. This role can be virtual and requires US citizenship.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision and provide status and issues to executives and upper management
  • Proven skills in project coordination and project management
  • Strong initiative and creativity in gathering an analyzing data
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, set direction, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including ability to summarize and concisely share key project information at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to drive and coordinate the tasks of a large, matrixed project team which is geographically dispersed, including offshore development centers
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or relevant work experience
  • 1-2 years project management experience
  • Knowledge of general business processes for IT professional service firms
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • US citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Ensure project meets the expected budgetary, scope of work, and scheduling guidelines
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours budgets, travel, and expenditures
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective
  • Create project reports and invoicing reports aligned with contract requirements
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with all appropriate internal and external groups and personnel to ensure excellent delivery of projects
  • Provide all necessary data for tracking, planning and project evaluation to ensure data accuracy in project management tools
  • Prepare documentation and lead client steering committee meetings
  • Effectively communicate project status and issues to management and present options for issue resolution
  • Work with senior project manager to apply risk mitigation strategies to the project plan to ensure overall project success
  • Enforce strict change management practices to meet project timelines and client expectations
  • Assist with contract compliance
  • Provide administrative support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
