About The Position

Our client, a well-established Accounting and Tax Firm in the Western Cape, is seeking a Junior Professional Accountant to join their growing team. This remote role is responsible for managing the full accounting function for an international client, with additional support provided to other clients as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have recently completed their professional accounting articles and are looking to expand their accounting expertise.

Requirements

• Completed SAIPA articles or equivalent professional articles (SAICA, CIMA or similar)
• Relevant Accounting qualification
• Sound understanding of accounting principles, tax legislation and financial reporting
• Experience preparing annual financial statements, management accounts and tax returns
• Knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, CaseWare, QuickBooks or similar
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Professional, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Dependable Wi-Fi network and back-up power in case of electricity outages

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual financial statements and management accounts
• Complete tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
• Perform VAT, PAYE and other statutory submissions
• Assist with monthly accounting and bookkeeping functions
• Liaise with clients and provide professional accounting and tax support
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and reporting deadlines
• Complete timesheets to allocate work hours to clients
