About The Position

This position offers a unique opportunity for candidates seeking to expand their defense litigation expertise through hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced litigation paralegals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant work experience, along with a paralegal certificate obtained before or within a specified period after hire.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of legal experience.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage workloads effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Experience working with federal/state court litigation cases.
  • Proficiency in using legal research tools, including Westlaw.
  • Experience with iManage or a similar document management tool, as well as Relativity and other eDiscovery platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize a high-volume workload to meet time-critical deadlines.
  • Strong Communication & Analytical Skills.
  • Experience in calendaring all deadlines and researching court specific rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time and workload efficiently, which includes recording all billable time spent on case files and client matters.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage smaller matters while supporting Senior Paralegals on complex, high-stakes cases.
  • Develop, maintain, and refine processes for the initial review of incoming cases to integrate materials into standard firm systems.
  • Calculate, docket, and monitor deadlines by researching and applying court rules across multiple jurisdictions to ensure accurate calendaring and compliance.
  • Maintain meticulous and organized case files, while adhering to established firm systems, processes, and naming conventions.
  • Prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, and other litigation documents with meticulous accuracy.
  • Schedule and coordinate medical examinations, depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Analyze, review, and organize documents and data from materials produced during discovery; prepare/coordinate document production and responses to discovery requests.
  • Prepare cases for trial and attend as necessary.
