About The Position

Entry-to-mid level cybersecurity and network support role focused on patching, vulnerability remediation, and operational security. Works under the direct mentorship of the Lead Network Security Engineer. Primary focus on patch management, vulnerability reduction, and cybersecurity operations. Secondary exposure to networking, firewalls, and cloud environments. Developmental role designed to grow into a Network Security Engineer position.

  • Experience with cloud (OCI/AWS) maintenance tasks
  • Experience maintaining asset inventory, patch records, and diagrams
  • Knowledge of change control procedures and operational standards

Responsibilities

  • Execute the enterprise patch management program across servers, endpoints, and network devices
  • Deploy, validate, and troubleshoot OS, firmware, and application patches
  • Run vulnerability scans and assist with remediation tracking
  • Generate reports on patch compliance and risk exposure
  • Monitor and investigate security alerts (EDR, IDS, etc.)
  • Escalate incidents following defined runbooks
  • Assist with firewall rule reviews and access control updates
  • Support endpoint protection and identity/VPN security
  • Monitor network health and availability
  • Assist with network troubleshooting and VPN/connectivity issues
  • Support Meraki, Cisco, and Fortinet environments under supervision
  • Assist with backup verification and restore testing
  • Support basic server patching and infrastructure hygiene
  • Perform basic cloud (OCI/AWS) maintenance tasks
  • Maintain asset inventory, patch records, and diagrams
  • Follow change control procedures and operational standards
  • All configuration changes and security-impacting actions must be reviewed and approved by the Lead Network Security Engineer
  • Develop network security and infrastructure skills
  • Participate in training and security awareness initiatives
  • Work toward progression into a Network Security Engineer role
