About The Position

The Classified Infrastructure Services (CIS) department provides expertise to programs in Networking and High-Performance Computing. We are seeking a Junior Network Administrator to join our team in McKinney, TX. In this role, you will bring a basic level knowledge of Cisco devices and commands to support multiple, air-gapped Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs). This is an onsite position in McKinney, TX.

Requirements

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of less than 2 years of relevant experience, or minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Network Engineering, or in an IT discipline.
Create and maintain technical documentation such as network and rack diagrams
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
Experience with Cisco Networking Products.
CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent 8570 IAT Level II or 8140 Intermediate for Network Operations Specialist), or ability to acquire within 6 months of start date.
Associate-level Cisco certification (e.g. CCNA)
Able to effectively and respectfully collaborate with across functions, to include other Digital disciplines, Cybersecurity, Facilities, Engineering, and Program Management
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

Review Technical Security Controls with more senior networking professionals and apply to network configurations
Install network hardware as part of tech refreshes
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues
Create and maintain technical documentation such as network and rack diagrams
