About The Position
ISPA Technology LLC is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of advanced marine and mechanical systems. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer looking to gain hands-on experience with mechanical design, CAD, structural analysis, prototyping, and testing in an R&D environment. The Junior Mechanical Engineer will work alongside experienced engineers while contributing to the development of ocean-based technologies and related hardware systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–2 years of professional experience; relevant internships, co-ops, military experience, or academic projects may be considered.
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical design and engineering principles.
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, Creo, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and mechanical drafting.
- Basic understanding of materials, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Active Secret security clearance.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to FEA through coursework, internships, or professional experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Support Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering analyses under guidance from senior engineers.
- Create and update part drawings, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation using CAD software.
- Assist with prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Support material selection and manufacturing activities.
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineering teams.
- Maintain accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Support field testing and system deployment activities as needed.
