About The Position

Join the team at RPM Raceway Stamford! We're seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic to help maintain our high-performance electric go-karts and ensure a safe, exciting experience for every guest. This role involves performing routine maintenance and repairs, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and inspecting karts daily to ensure safety and performance standards are met. The ideal candidate will also maintain tools, equipment, and a clean workshop environment, and support track operations as needed.

Requirements

Mechanical experience required
Automotive, powersports, or karting experience preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods throughout the shift.
Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills to handle small parts and tools efficiently.
Ability to perform tasks that require precise movements and the use of hand tools and equipment.
Ability to kneel, crouch, and work in awkward positions to reach and repair equipment.
Sustained physical effort to perform repetitive tasks, such as tightening bolts, adjusting settings, and inspecting vehicles.
Tolerance for working in varying conditions, including exposure to loud noises, heat, and potential fumes.
Available to work weekends and holidays.
Thriving on diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues.
Performing work with accuracy and efficiency.
Proficiency in utilizing advanced equipment to identify vehicle problems.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of some type of mechanical experience is preferred.
High School diploma or GED from an accredited vocational institution preferred.
Experience with thriving in a dynamic environment.
Experience with precision and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric go-karts
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
Inspect karts daily to ensure safety and performance standards are met
Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean workshop environment
Support track operations as needed during busy periods
Monitors the performance of the karts and the shop.
Utilizes shop systems, policies and procedures including reporting required for Inspections by the State and Management.
Communicates issues with karts to management team and other mechanics.
Keeps karts free of operational issues and ensure they are safe to race.
Work with other stores to ensure cost-effective sources for alternative parts, etc. are available.
Completes Kart Inspection Checklists to meet governing regulations.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Ensures parts inventory is reported, ordered, stocked, maintained and organized and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Maintains daily/weekly/monthly logs for kart repairs and issues and month-end information to Corporate Mechanic and Bookkeeping Department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Adheres to safety regulations and industry standards.
