Requirements

  • BA/BS degree.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Supports senior staff and performs functional duties under oversight.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a federal clearance up to Top Secret/DOE Q clearance levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn DOE program processes and federal TA requirements.
  • Ability to analyze information, document workflows, and assist in developing procedural improvements.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under the guidance of senior staff while developing independent working skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn DOE systems such as STRIPES, FAST, PAGE, and PMC.
  • Commitment to STI Federal’s core values and professional, respectful teamwork.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to federal programs, preferably within DOE or other science/energy‑related agencies.
  • Familiarity with grants, cooperative agreements, or Technical Assistance processes.
  • Understanding of basic concepts related to critical minerals, energy technologies, manufacturing, or energy efficiency (coursework or internship experience acceptable).
  • Experience working with states, Tribes, local governments, nonprofits, or universities on program or administrative tasks.
  • Interest in R&D commercialization, emerging energy technologies, or public‑sector program operations.
  • Experience supporting documentation development, process mapping, or workflow improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior analysts in conducting organizational studies, workflow reviews, and operational evaluations in support of DOE programs.
  • Help design and document administrative systems, procedures, and work processes.
  • Support work‑simplification and measurement studies under supervision from senior team members.
  • Contribute to the development of operations manuals, procedural documents, and guidance materials for CMEI program offices and TA recipients.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support for planning, coordination, and oversight of Technical Assistance activities.
  • Assist with ensuring transparency, compliance, and accessibility across DOE TA engagements.
  • Prepare summaries, reports, draft documentation, and analytical inputs for senior review.
