Under the guidance and mentorship of Loan Officers, the Junior Loan Officer learns to effectively and thoroughly interview mortgage applicants, accurately complete loan applications within the Point of Sale (POS) system, identify required documentation for specific loan products, and submit complete, well-organized mortgage files to processing. Through instruction from the Mortgage Sales team, the Junior Loan Officer develops the ability to analyze a customer’s financial profile, credit documents and assess alignment with the Bank’s lending guidelines, and gain a working understanding of the full suite of mortgage products and associated pricing. Under the mentorship of Loan Officers, the Junior Loan Officer will develop effective networking strategies, methods for developing referral sources, and best practices for leveraging branch partnerships to support business growth. The Junior Loan Officer will work in close partnership with the Loan Operations team to support daily loan processing activities. This role will assist with reviewing loan pipelines, coordinating document collection, and communicating with customers throughout the loan process. The Junior Loan Officer supports Loan Officers by maintaining communication regarding loan progress with processors, customers, realtors, attorneys, and other parties, assisting with the collection of additional information as needed throughout the loan lifecycle. Additionally, the Junior Loan Officer assists Loan Officers with post-closing customer follow-up to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. The Junior Loan Officer will assist Loan Officers with scheduled phone duty by being available to answer inbound and cold-call customer inquiries, providing appropriate guidance and information. Actively support Loan Officers in strengthening professional and community relationships within assigned markets through targeted outreach and networking activities. Contribute to increasing the Bank’s visibility within the marketplace, helping to generate new business opportunities while supporting ongoing professional development. Demonstrate ongoing knowledge of and adherence to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including BSA/AML and Privacy standards, as outlined in the Bank’s policies, procedures, and compliance programs. Comply with all S.A.F.E. Act regulations including keeping registration information (including but not limited to name, home address and work address) up to date and status as active. NMLS ID registration is required and must be kept in good standing through timely completion of all mandatory training requirements.
