About The Position

We are looking for a commercially minded lawyer who can protect the business while helping it move forward. This role involves reviewing agreements, researching regulatory questions, and handling legal matters calmly. As our Junior Legal Counsel, you will support responsible growth, compliant innovation, and ethical decisions to reach more people without unnecessary risk to our customers, brands, or business.

Requirements

  • Completed a Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent qualification.
  • One to two years of in-house legal experience or comparable commercial legal experience.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to protect the business while facilitating its progress.
  • Ability to draft and review commercial agreements, identifying key terms that matter to the business.
  • Understanding of business operations and the ability to explain risks and trade-offs.
  • Skill in simplifying complex legal issues for a non-legal audience.
  • Proficiency in challenging unreasonable terms and negotiating effectively.
  • Ability to identify legal and compliance issues early.
  • Capability to provide practical solutions and develop clear action plans.
  • Interest in protecting brands, including trademarks and intellectual property.
  • Comfort working in regulated environments (consumer health, supplements, healthcare, eCommerce).
  • Understanding of FDA, FTC, advertising law, privacy, disclaimers, licensing, and cross-border requirements.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Obsession with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Humble, hungry to learn, and people-smart (great teammate).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in intellectual property law.
  • Experience in supplements, healthcare, eCommerce, or regulated consumer products.

Responsibilities

  • Review influencer agreements.
  • Research regulatory questions.
  • Calmly handle demand letters.
  • Protect the business while helping it move forward.
  • Support responsible growth, compliant innovation, and ethical decisions.
  • Draft and review commercial agreements, focusing on indemnities, warranties, termination rights, intellectual property provisions, and limitations of liability.
  • Understand business needs and explain legal risks and trade-offs to help the business make smart decisions.
  • Translate complex legal issues into plain English for non-legal professionals.
  • Write clear contracts, practical memos, useful summaries, and actionable recommendations.
  • Challenge unreasonable terms in negotiations.
  • Identify legal and compliance issues in marketing copy, packaging, product names, supplier agreements, and new business initiatives.
  • Provide practical solutions by understanding business unit goals and uncovering the problem behind requests.
  • Protect valuable brands, including trademarks, brand assets, product names, licensing, co-branding, and enforcement.
  • Navigate complex regulatory environments including FDA, FTC, advertising law, privacy, disclaimers, licensing, and cross-border requirements.
  • Handle sensitive business, employee, financial, and legal information with discretion and sound judgment.
  • Ensure accuracy and deliver trustworthy advice.
