About The Position

The Meadowbrook School of Weston is seeking a junior kindergarten educator to join its faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is part-time (0.85 FTE) with hours from approximately 7:45 am to 1:00 pm, with the option to become full-time by joining the after-school faculty from approximately 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The school is exploring a full-day junior kindergarten program for the 2027-2028 school year. Meadowbrook is a mission-driven school committed to providing a well-rounded, rigorous education that often challenges students beyond their grade level, particularly in reading and math. The school seeks an educator with a background or interest in cultural competency, curriculum development, and technology integration, and an understanding of the social and emotional development of pre-kindergarteners (4-5 year olds). The role is a co-teaching position, requiring strong communication, relationship-building skills, flexibility, and collegiality. Meadowbrook's lower school faculty is a dynamic group passionate about educating young children, supporting their confidence, self-advocacy, understanding of learning, and developing skills in leadership, responsibility, and citizenship. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education or elementary education or related field
  • At least two years teaching experience in grades pre-k through 1st grade
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a team/co-teaching environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in early childhood education or elementary education or related field
  • Experience and understanding of developing literacy skills for this age group, including but not limited to oral language comprehension and development, phonemic awareness, phonics, emergent storytelling, and writing
  • Familiarity with Singapore Math and experience using a variety of manipulatives and math tools (Digi-Blocks, attribute blocks, ten frames, number bonds, etc) to teach math
  • Trained in Responsive Classroom

  • Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills, flexibility, and collegiality in a co-teaching environment to promote a healthy and stimulating relationship
