About The Position

Peraton is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Junior IT Shipping Specialist to support logistics and asset management activities for TSA devices. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build hands-on experience in IT operations, inventory management, and equipment deployment within a mission-driven environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring IT equipment is properly prepared, tested, tracked, and delivered to support operational readiness.

Requirements

Bachelors degree and 0 years of experience or an Associates degree and 2 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 4 years of experience.
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain an entry on duty security clearance
0–2 years of experience in IT support, logistics, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations
Basic understanding of computer hardware (laptops, desktops, servers, peripherals)
Ability to follow detailed processes and maintain accurate records
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Must be able to work onsite in Springfield, VA during designated hours

Nice To Haves

Experience with asset management or inventory tracking systems
Familiarity with imaging tools or basic IT configuration processes
Experience supporting government or regulated environments (e.g., TSA, DHS)
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

Process and fulfill requests for IT equipment including laptops, desktops, VOIP devices, peripherals, UPS, switches, and servers
Review and validate equipment requests to ensure accuracy and complete shipping details
Support requests from internal systems and portals (e.g., Field Equipment Portal and iShare)
Identify, pull, and inspect equipment to meet fulfillment requirements
Perform equipment testing and evaluation using standard checklists to ensure operational readiness
Image PCs, servers, and other applicable devices as required
Accurately capture and maintain asset tracking information
Prepare, package, label, and ship equipment in accordance with established procedures
Maintain organized inventory and support onsite warehouse operations
