Junior IT Security Analyst
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cybersecurity/IT Security Analyst to join our dynamic cybersecurity team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about cybersecurity and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with a foundational understanding of IT and cybersecurity principles to develop their skills and grow within the field. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our cybersecurity team and will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals.
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in cybersecurity/security operations environment.
- Demonstrated fundamental knowledge of IT principles and cybersecurity best practices.
- Basic understanding and hands-on capabilities with operating system configuration (Windows, Linux, macOS).
- Introductory knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and operations (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Nice To Haves
- Basic exposure to one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) is preferred
- Desire to pursue industry related certifications: Security+, C|EH, GSEC, etc.
Responsibilities
- Follow and execute directives issued by cybersecurity management and senior team members.
- Support day-to-day activities performed by the cybersecurity team, including monitoring, analysis, and incident response.
- Collaborate with senior team members to learn basic first-line threat assessment and response tasks.
- Progress toward independence in handling threat assessments and responses after demonstrating competence.
- Read daily cybersecurity resources to stay current on security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
