About The Position

We are looking for a designer with strong Revit and government commercial interior workplace experience, with 3-6 years of experience. The candidate must be able to commute to Arlington, VA 5 days a week. This role involves REVIT/CAD file maintenance and support for the FDIC Space Planning, Design & Construction Unit (SPDCU). Responsibilities include tracking office space assignments, maintaining occupancy plans, responding to office re-configurations, conducting site surveys, and providing continuous REVIT support. The role also entails developing smaller scale CD sets for small projects, converting AutoCAD documents, and preparing drawings and templates.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of work experience with Revit and architectural/interior design; work experience does not include experience during college/university.
  • U.S citizenship required due to government requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of architectural and commercial interiors building systems.
  • Self-starter, independent.
  • Thorough understanding of schedules, consultant coordination, and project budget.
  • Ability to design multiple projects of a similar scope.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Positive solution-oriented management approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture / interior design.
  • Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • REVIT/CAD file maintenance and file support for sharing files of FDIC Space Planning, Design & Construction Unit (SPDCU).
  • Office space assignment tracking and employee counts for all government staff and contractors (requires accuracy for studies; DOA CSB is currently conducting and reporting for space utilization purposes).
  • Keeping occupancy plans current and accurate with onboarding and departures.
  • Respond to office re-configurations, site surveys and continuous REVIT support.
  • Small projects to develop smaller scale CD sets, which include the activities that are usually included in a WO (i.e., client meetings, surveys, use of FDIC furniture inventories to confirm availability of product to perform the work, revisions).
  • Convert existing AutoCAD documents utilizing the standard FDIC templates and drawing sets.
  • Site surveys, measuring and verification.
  • Preparing drawings and templates.
