About The Position

The Junior Instructor I shall provide training to more junior naval personnel and civilians on naval maintenance staffs. The Junior Instructor II shall participate in course development and provide Ship Availability and Maintenance University training.

Requirements

Served at least one tour on a U.S. Navy surface ship as shipboard Leading Chief Petty Officer or 3-M Coordinator.
Served a minimum of two (2) years at a U.S. Navy surface ship maintenance activity (Regional Maintenance Center or Naval Shipyard), ashore maintenance staff or ashore maintenance training staff in a surface ship maintenance support billet.
Demonstrated two (2) years� experience with shore management programs for surface ship maintenance, including the roles of Port Engineers, Availability Work Package Managers, Type Desk Officers, and Type Desk Assistants.
Demonstrated recent (within last three (3) years) experience in SKED, OMMS-NG, AWN (Automated Work Notification) and other Navy Maintenance programs.
At least two (2) years� experience conducting technical briefs at all levels of shipboard and ashore maintenance managers.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to communicate with junior officers and enlisted naval personnel in a naval environment.
U.S. citizenship required.
Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance.
Must be able to access U.S. Navy ships, military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
