Junior Insolvency Analyst, Personal Debt Solutions
About The Position
Join our Personal Debt Solutions team as a Junior Insolvency Analyst on our Proposals team, where you'll play a key role in supporting the review and negotiation of consumer proposals. This role involves reviewing proposals for acceptance by creditors or identifying negotiation needs, assisting with negotiations with debtors and creditors, and supporting the administration of consumer proposals. You will also be responsible for responding to debtor inquiries, answering proposal-related questions, and liaising with team members for efficient administration. Continuous training to enhance technical knowledge and completing assigned duties are also part of the role.
Requirements
- One or more years of relevant work experience in a financial service environment; Insolvency, Banking, Finance, Credit Counseling or other relevant areas
- Great interpersonal skills to deal with team members, debtors, and creditors
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills to respond to different situations
- Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Takes personal ownership and responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- A team player who can also work independently
Nice To Haves
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- Previous insolvency experience (asset but not required)
Responsibilities
- Reviewing consumer proposals for acceptance by creditors or whether proposal negotiations are required
- Assisting with negotiating with the debtor and creditors on amendments to the consumer proposals
- Assisting with chairing meetings of creditors and drafting minutes of the meeting
- Responding to debtors’ inquiries in a timely manner
- Answering questions relating to the consumer proposal
- Liaising with team members to ensure efficient, diligent, and timely administration of the consumer proposal
- Participating in ongoing training to improve technical knowledge
- Completing other duties as assigned
