About The Position

Turn your love of skating into a rewarding first job! Join Boise Parks and Recreation as a Junior Ice Skating Instructor and help youth and adults build confidence and skills on the ice. You'll assist with fun, engaging lessons while helping create a safe, positive learning environment for skaters of all ages. If you're passionate about skating, enjoy working with people, and want to gain valuable leadership experience, this is a great opportunity to get started. This position is open to applicants 15 years of age and older.

Requirements

Must be a member of U.S Figure Skating through a recognized figure skating club or as an individual.
Must complete Learn to Skate USA Instructor Certification within one month of date of hire.
Must attend Junior Instructor orientation.
Must be able to pass City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation.
Knowledge of ice skating techniques.
Ability to maintain good relations with parents and skaters.
Ability to adhere to general customer service standards.
Ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly and professional manner.
Ability to display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City employees, the general public and other organizations.
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance.
Ability to complete assignments in a timely fashion.
Ability to understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations.
Ability to perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.
