About The Position

Seeking a highly capable, energetic, and experienced Junior House Manager for a semi-formal residence located in Toronto. The successful applicant will take full ownership of an organized, efficient and smoothly run home. This role is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, anticipates needs, and can manage household responsibilities with minimal oversight. This position is full-time, live-out. Work hours are generally between 9am – 5pm with some flexibility required. You are an experienced, knowledgeable, and service-oriented professional with a keen eye for detail and experience maintaining an efficient home. You communicate well and are comfortable working independently and in conjunction with the principals on special projects. You understand a home is a living environment, not just a workplace, and can easily adjust your daily schedule to accommodate activities in the residence.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role for a private family is preferred
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Excellent English communication skills and professional personal presentation
  • Detail oriented high personal standards, and comfortable working in a home with a dog
  • Organized, efficient, and proactive
  • Ability to problem-solve and take initiative without constant direction
  • Must be comfortable lifting 30 pounds and physically capable of performing the listed duties
  • Excellent laundry and ironing skills; correct use of products and methods for fine finishes and surfaces
  • Must maintain privacy and confidentiality always, exercising diplomacy, discretion and respecting appropriate boundaries
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Consistent access to a vehicle is an asset for running errands independently
  • Comfort and experience cooking is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Daily light housekeeping to include making beds, tidying, and kitchen cleaning
  • Perform regular, seasonal cleaning projects as necessary
  • Organizational projects in conjunction with principals
  • Source, manage, and supervise cleaning service and other contractors or vendors
  • Maintain household inventory of cleaning supplies and groceries
  • Manage all laundry, including washing, folding, ironing (occasionally) and proper garment care; noting garments requiring repair to principals
  • Run errands such as grocery shopping, dry cleaning, and household supply restocking
  • Help with special tasks as required
  • Put out trash and recycling weekly
  • Clean patio furniture during the summer months
  • Ensure household security protocols are followed
  • Answering the door, receiving packages, overseeing tradespeople, and walking the dog as needed
  • Monitoring the property while the principals are away
