The Junior High School Teacher - Social Studies position at Eastmark High School is responsible for leading students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating the district curriculum goals and objectives into learning experiences for each individual student. The role involves planning and implementing a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities, using effective teaching techniques and materials. The teacher will monitor and assess student progress, communicate objectives clearly, and create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student maturity and interests. This position also involves assisting administration with policy implementation, developing classroom rules, and fostering student development in personal-social adjustment, decision-making, self-image, and life skills. The teacher is expected to promote district philosophy and policies, communicate professionally with colleagues, students, parents, and the community, and assume legal responsibility for student supervision. Maintaining professional competence, regular attendance, and the ability to perform duties under stress are also key aspects of the role. This is a 195-day, 10-month position.
