About The Position

The Junior High Math Teacher will be responsible for teaching math to students in grades 6-8 at Coloma Junior High School. This is a full-time position that requires a passion for teaching and a dedication to helping students succeed in math.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university
  • Valid teaching certificate endorsement BX, BA or BQ and secondary area of certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of math concepts and the ability to explain them in a clear and engaging manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with students in a classroom or tutoring setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
  • Dedication to helping students succeed in math and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Teach math to students in grades 6-8
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that meet the needs of students with diverse learning styles
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with other teachers to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices in math education
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress
  • Create a positive classroom environment that promotes learning and encourages student engagement
