Geocgi is seeking a Junior GIS Analyst to support the U.S. Secret Service within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in a hybrid environment based in Washington, DC. This role focuses on geospatial data analysis, cartographic production, and quality assurance supporting operational and enterprise geospatial workflows. The ideal candidate brings foundational GIS experience, strong attention to detail, and an interest in supporting mission-driven geospatial products and analysis. This position is a Hybrid opportunity with the primary location of performance in Washington DC.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen and Active U.S. Passport.
  • DoD Top Secret Clearance (Active or held within the last two years)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science or related field with 1+ year of experience, or 4+ years of equivalent experience or Masters Degree.
  • Experience with GIS software and geospatial data analysis concepts.
  • Familiarity with cartographic production and map design principles.
  • Experience working with geospatial data formats and spatial datasets.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Esri products such as ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online.
  • Familiarity with web-based or mobile GIS applications.
  • Experience supporting federal or operational GIS environments.
  • Exposure to spatial analysis, scripting, or data automation workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, analyze, compile, evaluate, and review geospatial data for operational products and data holdings.
  • Attribute, extract, format, manipulate, and symbolize geospatial information.
  • Create cartographic products across desktop, web-based, and mobile platforms.
  • Support spatial analysis and geospatial data visualization efforts.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and currency of geospatial products.
  • Maintain and update geospatial datasets and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with analysts, developers, and operational stakeholders to support mission requirements.
  • Support production workflows and geospatial data management activities.
