As a Junior FX Trader, you will be responsible for trading currencies on behalf of institutional clients and BBH, to ensure optimal market pricing and minimal risk. In this role, you will monitor and analyze various factors to anticipate movements in the international currency markets. This is a European overnight shift covering 12am-7am EST, with supporting Asian trading hours 4pm-12am EST occasionally.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related discipline required
  • Experience in the financial services industry, including foreign exchange
  • Experience with international currency markets, including the impact of economic and political factors.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Experience with standard desktop tools, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the BBH business, practices and systems, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage risk in both spot and forward currency exposures in G-10 pairs.
  • Execute and manage risk in both restricted and non-restricted emerging market currency pairs.
  • Partner with FX Relationship Managers in the US and internationally to accept trade orders from clients.
  • Conduct all trading within BBH policy and external market standards.
  • Buy and sell currencies to profit from anticipated market movements, while keeping within authorized trading limits.
  • Quote currency prices, which are both beneficial to clients and profitable for BBH.
  • Recommend local rates based on international bank rates, size of transaction, stability of market and available balances to fund client requirements.
  • Negotiate the purchase and sale of foreign exchange drafts on the FX market and calculate US dollar equivalents.
  • Monitor and analyze the currency market and economic data to anticipate market movements, minimize trade losses and secure the best pricing for clients.
  • Review charts, reports and news items, to capture daily market movements.
  • Consult with traders from previous shift for trading activity highlights.
