The Fleet Support Representative delivers hands-on technical support for mission-critical software, hardware, and networked systems aboard U.S. Navy submarines, surface ships, and shore facilities. They install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot proprietary and commercial applications in Windows and Linux environments, to include classified and shipboard networks. As a primary technical point of contact for fleet customers, the representative responds to support requests by phone, email, remote session, and onsite visit and documents each case through resolution. The representative collaborates with military customers, fleet leadership, engineering, testing, and application integration teams to maintain reliable system performance and drive continuous improvement. They develop installation, verification, and troubleshooting documentation; support software updates and integration activities; deliver technical training to end users and system administrators; and analyze complex system failures to recommend effective corrective actions. The Fleet Support Representative travels to customer locations, shipyards, and fleet sites as mission needs require.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting software applications in Windows, Linux and networked environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, operating systems, and network connectivity.
  • Ability to document support cases, installation procedures, verification steps, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
  • Experience delivering technical training and on-the-job instruction to end users and system administrators.
  • Effective communication and customer-engagement skills, to include the ability to work directly with military, government, and technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with help desk case management and support from initial report through final resolution.
  • Ability to work independently in shipboard, shipyard, shore-based, and remote-support environments.
  • Experience supporting system integration, testing, and application updates.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, virtualization, and enterprise network concepts.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for assigned work.
  • Must be able to complete all requirements for DoD 8570 Certification within 6 months.
  • Willingness and ability to travel in support of fleet operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy, Department of Defense, maritime, or classified systems.
  • Knowledge of Linux administration, VMware or Hyper-V, SQL or Oracle databases, SCCM, WSUS.
  • Experience with technical documentation development, installation planning, and test-procedure execution.
  • CompTIA Security+ or comparable cybersecurity certification.
