We’re seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Jr. Financial Analyst to join our team in Brampton, ON. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who wants to gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, reporting, and project support within a dynamic engineering and design environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in similar role and financial analysis or accounting (internship experience considered).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP systems (Deltek or similar) is an asset.
  • CPA designation in progress or interest in pursuing CPA is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Compiling and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accuracy for internal and external reporting.
  • Data Analysis & Variance: Investigating differences between actual, budgeted, and prior-period results, identifying trends and areas for improvement in project financials.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements specific to engineering projects.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting: Contributing to forecasts and budgets, providing financial context for large-scale engineering projects.
  • Project Profitability: Analyzing project-specific financial data to assess profitability, costs, and resource allocation.
  • Strategic Support: Preparing reports and analyses for senior management to support decision-making on investments, project viability, and financial planning.
