About The Position

Mascoma Bank is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst to support the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, ALCO reporting, variance analysis, and performance reporting that help guide sound decision-making across the Bank. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Two years of banking, finance, or accounting experience, with a basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and data analysis tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow established controls and procedures.
  • Comfort working with financial data, bank systems, and reporting processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle personally identifiable information appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly updates to the Bank’s financial reporting system, including importing data, validating information, maintaining key system components, and assisting with report development.
  • Compile financial data used for deposit analysis, liquidity forecasting, ALCO modeling, and related reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial, ALCO, and departmental reports.
  • Gather, validate, and organize financial and operational data from multiple systems to support reporting, analysis, and management review.
  • Assist with the annual operating and capital budget process, including collecting data, maintaining budget reports, and supporting monthly variance reporting.
  • Support forecasting activities, including the Bank’s three-year plan and other financial modeling initiatives.
  • Assist with quarterly peer data analysis using call reports and other publicly available sources.
  • Contribute to special projects and other financial analysis as needed.
