About The Position

Ragle Inc. is seeking a Jr. Estimator to join our Dallas/Fort Worth team. This position will primarily support electrical estimating and is ideal for an engineering professional who is detail-oriented, analytical, team-focused, and interested in developing a career in construction estimating. The Jr. Estimator will work alongside experienced estimators to review project plans and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, develop cost estimates, and coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • 1+ years of estimating, construction, engineering, or related experience preferred but not required
  • Interest in electrical construction and estimating
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with estimating or takeoff software is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with estimating electrical scopes for assigned bids and projects
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with developing labor, material, and equipment costs
  • Assist with obtaining and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes
  • Identify potential scope gaps, project risks, and constructability concerns
  • Support preparation and review of bid packages and final estimates
  • Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams regarding scope and pricing
  • Maintain accurate estimating documentation and historical cost information
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
  • Support the estimating and preconstruction teams with additional bid activities
  • Participate in site visits during the bidding phase to better understand project scope and existing conditions
  • Gain field exposure to electrical installations, construction sequencing, and project operations
