About The Position

Lonestar Lighting and Technology is seeking a Junior Estimator to support the Quotations, Estimating, and sales team. The role helps ensure prospective residential and commercial construction projects are accurately assessed for costs, revenue, and materials associated with electrical components and lighting. The Junior Estimator works with internal and external stakeholders—including general contractors, manufacturers, and representative agencies—to gather information and prepare projections, under the guidance of others. The position is suited to someone who wants to learn about the industry, estimation processes, and best practices.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal communication, critical-thinking, analytical, and organizational skills.
Time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Work with stakeholders to assess projects and identify requirements for time, labor, and material costs.
Support blueprint reading and review of other applicable documents to help prepare estimates.
Prepare reports detailing the full scope of lighting packages for review with estimators or leadership before customer approval.
Collaborate with estimators to calculate costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
Obtain and maintain current information on manufacturers’ pricing structures and recommend cost-reduction options when available.
Review calculations, analyses, and estimate adjustments for estimators.
Contribute to team efforts by completing related tasks as needed.
