Junior Environmental Technologist/Scientist
About The Position
As a Junior Environmental Scientist/Technologist, in Fort St. John, British Columbia, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is $24.00 to $35.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Requirements
- A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology or engineering
- Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- A strong knowledge of British Columbia regulatory framework
- Experience writing technical reports
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
- A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions
Nice To Haves
- 1+ years’ experience managing assessment, reclamation, remediation and monitoring projects for Oil and Gas clients within a consulting environment would be considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Active participation in maintaining our strong safety culture
- Lead and assist with simple to moderately complex contaminated site field investigations or reclamation projects
- Act as a leader in the workplace using the Onterris Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures
- Supervise sub-contractors
- Initial interpretation of field data to make field-related decisions
- Work with senior technical advisors to ensure high quality products that meet our clients’ unique project needs
- Communicate and liaise with clients and project related stakeholders
- Manage project related timelines and budgets
- Preparation of technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, cost estimates, and summary reports
- Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
