Junior Environmental Field Technician (Part Time)

Purpose This position involves the collection and compilation of environmental data from sites including bat and avian monitoring, under different stages or phases of environmental work processes.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.
- Entry level position, no prior experience required. Any relevant industry-related experience a plus.
- Knowledge in the operation and use of field equipment, which includes, but is not limited to, 4x4 trucks, compass, tablet, range finder, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field a plus.
- Any relevant industry-related experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform work under direct supervision of an experienced professional and follow established procedures and clearly defined processes.
- Receive direction on all aspects of assignments, specific tasks and how to execute.
- Work is thoroughly reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles.
- Work effectively with other departments and with employees at all levels.
- Carefully operate field equipment and instruments.
- Perform biological monitoring.
- Identify bat and avian species.
- Generate and log detailed field notes and data collection sheets.
- Perform basic calculations related to sampling data.
