We are looking for a junior Environmental Engineer / Geoscientist to join our team in Clarington. GEMTEC is an employee-owned, 400-person multidisciplinary consulting firm. Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment
  • Ability to present technical information, both written and verbally, in a concise and professional manner
  • Adaptability to represent GEMTEC professionally with clients, developers, or contractors
  • Ownership mentality that treats each project as if it's building your own home
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, environmental science or geoscience from an accredited institution.
  • Eligible for Professional (e.g., P.Eng., P.Geo.). in an environmental consulting environment.
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Eligible for Qualified Person (QP) designation is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Supporting multidisciplinary infrastructure and greenfield development projects through application of project management, problem solving skills and knowledge of Ontario Regulations (O.Reg 153/04, O.Reg 406/19, etc.).
  • Contributing to proposals supporting GEMTEC pursuits.
  • Assisting in the completion of Phase One and Phase Two Environmental Site Assessments, including preparation of Records of Site Condition.
  • Assisting the team and participating in the preparation of excess soil management plans.
  • Completing field investigations pertaining to brownfield redevelopments, including development and implementation of sampling and analysis plans.
  • Completing, tabulation and interpretation of field and laboratory samples, preparation of borehole logs and report figures, data management and report preparation.
  • Preparing reports as necessary to meet client needs.
  • Adhering to all company policies.
  • Performing other duties as required.
