About The Position

As an Entry Level Engineering Technician at Black & Veatch in Ann Arbor, you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, impactful projects that support our clients’ goals while fostering your professional growth and advancing the success of Black & Veatch. Under close supervision, supports engineering teams by performing technical tasks that require basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Utilizes digital tools, design software (CAD, BIM, 3D tools, etc.), and standardized procedures to assist in the creation, modification, and maintenance of technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or Certificate preferred.
  • Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and maintaining a working knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides and BV policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing an understanding and complying with the BV Quality Program.
  • Demonstrates personal accuracy and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Learns the applications required to modify less complex deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.
  • Learns to identify the needs of internal clients and begins to gain a basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.
  • Proactively seeks and shares knowledge of latest technologies and processes.
  • Candidates will serve as a resource for an assigned function: Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Electrical.
