About The Position

Dupray is currently seeking a motivated, curious, and organized Junior Product Development Specialist to support our design and development activities. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, the successful candidate will work closely with the design team, partner engineers, and external manufacturers. They will be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept to launch, while contributing to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). This role also includes an important strategic component: participating in the development of a growing department. This provides a unique opportunity to help shape its structure, tools, and processes from the ground up. With numerous new products scheduled to launch over the coming years, the position offers a wide range of exciting and rewarding challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation or eligibility is considered an asset.
  • 0–2 years of experience in product development, mechanical design, or quality assurance (including internships).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of PLM systems and QMS principles.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical design.
  • Strong autonomy, attention to detail, technical curiosity, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams (local and international).
  • Excellent command of both French and English, written and spoken.
  • Strong interest in consumer products and functional design.

Responsibilities

  • Update and organize technical documentation, including product specifications, technical data sheets, bills of materials (BOMs), 2D/3D drawings, and progress reports.
  • Create and maintain databases related to products, suppliers, testing, QMS, and PLM.
  • Assist with the implementation and administration of the PLM system, including file structures, bills of materials, revisions, and associated documentation.
  • Support the maintenance of the QMS through the drafting, review, and updating of procedures and forms.
  • Modify and optimize 3D models based on testing feedback and team recommendations (prototypes, adjustments, improvements).
  • Collaborate with the design team and overseas manufacturing engineers to ensure technical consistency.
  • Assist with project planning and tracking, including milestones, deliverables, and schedule adherence.
  • Participate in product development meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Review and document received samples; verify part compliance and fitment.
  • Coordinate prototype manufacturing and follow-up with production partners.
  • Support technical testing activities, compile results, and contribute to analysis efforts.
  • Identify risks that could delay development or impact product quality (e.g., PFMEA).
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing products and the development of technical solutions.
