The Junior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for developing, installing, and troubleshooting electrical requirements for new equipment during initial start-up. This role involves maintaining the plant’s machinery and equipment while optimizing processes to minimize production disruption. The engineer will support production with problem-solving and assist maintenance when equipment or process issues arise. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment such as PLC (Allen-Bradley) and motor controls, safety sensors, and relays. The position also requires responding to equipment breakdowns, executing mechanical repairs in a timely manner, and developing and executing preventative and predictive maintenance programs. The engineer will identify areas for capital expenditure improvements, present ideas with ROI details, and develop, document, maintain, and train staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process parameters. Additional duties include monitoring and reducing scrap levels, maximizing efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes, developing and documenting bill of materials (BOM) information in ERP, and maintaining spare parts inventory. The role also involves executing planned and reactive maintenance work, striving to achieve maintenance department goals, participating in the company’s EH&S program, and maintaining professional knowledge through continuous learning and professional development. The position may require domestic and international travel for training and equipment procurement, and availability to work or be on call during evenings and/or weekends to support 24/7 manufacturing. All other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
