About The Position

DS2 is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This role involves creating mission-critical software and developing new and emerging technologies. DS2 provides full life-cycle software engineering services to DoW, federal, and commercial clients, emphasizing teamwork, customer focus, and hiring talented individuals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, power supplies, and signal processing.
  • Familiarity with basic electronics lab tools and measurement techniques.
  • Proficiency in PCB design software.
  • Engages with teammates, both virtually and face-to-face, to plan projects, seek out or provide help on issues, as well as present solutions to clients.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on proficiency in industry-standard CAD & Simulation Software like AutoCAD, Revit, or MATLAB.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting hardware, utilizing oscilloscopes, multimeters, and soldering equipment.
  • Practical knowledge of software and hardware definition languages like C#, C++, Python.
  • Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) or UL standards for safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, simulation, and prototyping of electrical circuits, PCBs, and electronic subsystems.
  • Support integration and testing of electrical components in complex systems.
  • Perform basic schematic capture, layout support, and cable/harness design using tools such as Altium, KiCad, or OrCAD.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and debugging hardware using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other standard equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, systems engineering) to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and environmental requirements for military applications.
  • Support field testing and customer demonstrations as needed.
