About The Position

CACI is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Junior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position is perfect for a recent graduate who thrives on uncovering the intricate workings of electronic devices. You will play a crucial role in meticulously mapping out electrical designs, analyzing communication signals, and quantifying RF characteristics to explain how devices operate. This role demands a curious mind, a meticulous approach, and the ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear, comprehensive reports for our customers.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
  • ABET accredited B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and understanding electronic schematics.
  • Solid understanding of electronic components and their functions, with an emphasis on analyzing electronic circuits.
  • Hands-on experience using laboratory benchtop equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators, from academic projects or internships.
  • A foundational understanding of RF communications.
  • Academic or project-based experience with communication bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Capable of performing basic RF measurements (e.g., occupied bandwidth, average power) using standard test equipment.
  • Capable of writing complex technical reports.

Nice To Haves

  • ABET BSE in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with IED and/or UXS techniques, tactics, and procedures (TTP)
  • Understanding of programming languages

Responsibilities

  • Characterize and document electronic systems: Research circuit components, create detailed schematics and perform laboratory environment time and frequency domain tests and measurements to understand circuit functions and device operational purpose.
  • Analyze communication bus protocols: Work with various digital communication protocols like SPI, I2C, and UART to understand data flow within devices.
  • Characterize RF signals: Measure and analyze radio frequency (RF) signals from electronic devices to identify physical layer characteristics such as basic modulation schemes, operating frequencies, occupied bandwidths, transmission power, etc.
  • Decode modulation: Support the analysis and decoding of different RF modulation types to extract data and understand signal encoding.
  • Contribute to technical reports: Integrate device characterization data and analysis summaries into coherent and comprehensive reports and briefings for customers.
