About The Position

Peregrine Advisors is hiring a Junior DevSecOps Engineer to help operate automation, CI/CD pipelines, and secure cloud infrastructure for federal systems. The role is based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area under a hybrid work arrangement; commuting cadence varies by assignment. The initial engagement requires United States citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust determination. Working alongside engineers and under senior engineers’ guidance, you will contribute to infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, containerized AWS environments, and security controls in delivery pipelines. You will automate operational tasks with Python and, when appropriate, Bash or PowerShell; help implement NIST SP 800-53 controls and automate compliance evidence; and use AI-assisted tools while verifying their outputs. Your changes will be reviewed, and you will explain your implementation and reasoning to reviewers. The position emphasizes building security into delivery from the start, replacing manual work with automation, and maintaining auditability. This is a full-time W-2 position with a salary of $80,000 to $95,000 per year. Peregrine supports employee development through onboarding, sponsored professional certifications and continuing education, and rotation across functions and clients.
