About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Designer with a passion for crafting innovative and inspiring corporate and commercial environments. As a Designer, you will support and contribute to projects throughout the design process from concept to completion with supervision. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills that allow you to do effective research, collect data as well and present your analysis. We are seeking a candidate who enjoys working in a project environment with strong time management skills to meet deadlines and who also has the confidence to ask questions and bring barriers to the project's success to the project leaders’ attention.

Requirements

  • A professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalent
  • Up to 3+ years of workplace interiors focused project experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to collaborate with team members
  • Knowledge of finish materials, furniture, FF&E, and applicable reference standards
  • Ability to develop preliminary space plans and designs concepts
  • Ability to review shop drawings and submittals
  • Ability to produce innovative design concepts that meet the client and project needs, while also respecting the project budget
  • Be proactive in researching and learning design elements required for the project

Nice To Haves

  • LEED accreditation would be an asset
  • Residential design experience is considered as asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate exceptional detailed design concepts, with the ability to develop functional requirements and inspirational approach to meet project-design criteria
  • Support team in the concept/schematic development of workplace projects
  • With input from the project Lead, oversee the interior design process and deliverable, take direction from Design Lead to establish project direction
  • Demonstrates clear understanding of the interior design process, and how to effectively integrate interior elements and concepts with supervision
  • Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization and hand-sketching
  • Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers
  • Develop understanding of building codes and accessibility codes/standards
  • Select and specify all interior design elements to suit project needs
