About The Position

The Junior Data Scientist supports the design, development, and deployment of analytical models and data-driven insights under the guidance of the Lead Data Scientist. This role works closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, and business stakeholders to help turn data into actionable recommendations and support innovation initiatives.

Requirements

0–3 years of experience (or equivalent training) in data analysis, machine learning, or statistical modeling.
Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Understanding data pipelines, cloud platforms, and data governance concepts.
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn from senior team members.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Analytics, Business Technology or related field required.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and will be required to provide proof of employment eligibility at the time of hire; Nissan uses E-Verify to validate employment eligibility.

Responsibilities

Assist in the development and validation of predictive models, statistical analyses, and machine learning workflows.
Prepare and clean datasets in collaboration with Data Engineering and Data Stewards.
Support the deployment, monitoring, and performance evaluation of models in production systems.
Contribute to documentation, reproducibility, and adherence to data science best practices.
Learn and apply new methods, tools, and frameworks to enhance analytical capabilities.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to help translate analytical results into insights and recommendations.
