About The Position
This role involves creating high-tech solutions to enhance security and defend against various cyber threats. The professional will monitor computer networks, identify security issues, and anticipate breaches. Responsibilities include installing and maintaining security programs, ensuring data and infrastructure protection, investigating security incidents, and performing assessments and penetration tests. The role also involves overseeing security technology, staying updated on industry trends and regulations, and performing other assigned duties.
Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems or related area, or equivalent level of education and experience
- 0-1 years of relevant experience
- Able to multi-task and work in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate proficiency with server hardware and software
- Excellent oral, written, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills required
- Must be dependable and detail-oriented
Responsibilities
- Helps create high-tech solutions to increase security and defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats, and other types of cybercrimes
- Monitoring computer networks, identifying security issues, and anticipating security breaches
- Executes the installation and maintenance of security programs, plans, and software, including firewalls and data encryption programs
- Assures protection of the organization's data and infrastructure by enabling the appropriate security controls
- Investigates and analyzes security breaches and cyber security incidents to determine the source of the issues, and assesses the damage caused
- Helps document security incidents or breaches
- Performs assessments and penetration tests to identify network and system vulnerabilities, troubleshoots security and network problems, determines the best way to avoid them, and responds to system or network security breaches
- Oversees security technology and audit or intrusion systems
- Keeps abreast of industry security trends and developments, as well as applicable government regulations
- Other duties as assigned
