Analyst, Cyber Security

DreamToronto, ON
CA$65,000 - CA$80,000

About The Position

Dream's Cybersecurity Team is currently looking for an Analyst, Cyber Security to support our Technology Team. This position encompasses all major aspects of cybersecurity and technology infrastructure and will require you to think on your feet. You’ll get exposure to emerging technologies — including practical, day-to-day use of AI — along with the opportunity to take ownership of systems, processes, and initiatives that directly shape how we protect the business. It’s a role built to give you both breadth and depth of cybersecurity experience, and the room to make it your own. Occasional after-hours availability may be required to facilitate changes or respond to a cyber-incident.

Requirements

  • A knack for solving intermediate to complex technology problems;
  • Operational knowledge of AI — comfort using AI tools in day-to-day work, an understanding of their strengths and limitations, and awareness of the security considerations that come with them;
  • Experience (or strong interest) in automating security and operational processes, whether through scripting, low-code tools, or platform-native automation;
  • Exposure to data security concepts and tooling — classification, DLP, encryption, and access governance;
  • Familiarity with standard and next-generation EDR / antivirus products;
  • Understanding of Next-Generation Firewall technologies (NGFW);
  • Exposure to Microsoft Cloud technologies (Azure, O365);
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio);
  • Experience reviewing log files and the ability to filter relevant information;
  • An understanding of networking and embedded technologies (IoT), along with associated security risks; and
  • The ability to clearly communicate concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with, or alongside, an outsourced/managed SOC or MSSP is an asset;

Responsibilities

  • Investigate cybersecurity alerts and events across multiple technologies and toolsets;
  • Act as the day-to-day coordination point for our external Security Operations Centre (SOC) provider — managing escalations, tuning detections, reviewing performance, and owning the working relationship;
  • Review and audit security tools and system configurations, and make recommendations;
  • Configure and test security tools as directed by the Senior Manager of Cybersecurity;
  • Take ownership of specific security platforms and processes, driving them forward rather than simply maintaining them;
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive security tasks, and build, test, and maintain those automations;
  • Apply AI tools and techniques in daily work — triage, analysis, reporting, and process improvement — and help the team mature how we use them safely and effectively;
  • Contribute to data security initiatives, including classification, data loss prevention, access reviews, and the protection of sensitive information across cloud and on-premises environments;
  • Liaise with other technology teams to implement security technologies, policies, and configurations;
  • Collaboratively design, create, and update security reports and alerts;
  • Perform risk analysis to identify any security issues that could lead to lost or stolen data
  • Create and document security standards and policies;
  • Work with cloud-based automation and security technologies; and
  • Other duties as assigned by the Cybersecurity Manager.
