About The Position

Aird & Berlis LLP is seeking a clerk with corporate experience to fill a unique and rewarding role within their Tax department. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a corporate background to gain exposure to the tax group while being mentored by seasoned tax clerks. Proficiency in MinuteBox or a similar corporate database is key for this role. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, eager to learn, and ready to grow within the role.

Requirements

A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Corporate or Tax Law Clerk
Successful completion of a related post-secondary education program in a legal assistant or law clerk program
ILCO certification
Knowledge of Federal and Provincial corporate statutes and corporate procedures
Knowledge of MinuteBox or similar corporate database

Responsibilities

Key maintenance tasks and filings, including preparing of report books and maintaining/updating minute books, (including registers and ledgers) and MinuteBox
Prepare general and annual corporate filings, director/officer changes, dividends, redemptions, extra-provincial and business name registrations
Conduct corporate searches and analyze filings
Liaise with clients, lawyers and law clerks, as needed
Assist processing corporate documents utilizing eCore
Produce the highest quality of work
Accountable for all work assigned
Take initiative, attention to detail, multitasking
Maintain confidentiality
