About The Position

Are you ready to apply your academic background to help leading pension schemes and institutional investors navigate complex financial challenges? Do you want to develop your analytical and communication skills in a dynamic consulting environment? If you’re eager to contribute your creativity to a growing, innovative team, we’d love to meet you! As a consultant in our Pension Strategy & Risk team, you’ll work on diverse projects for some of the most influential and advanced pension schemes in Canada, including many of the Maple Eight. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across the company, acting as a trusted advisor to clients, and translating complex pension and investment concepts into actionable insights. You will support clients in using our advanced Asset-Liability Management (ALM) software, GLASS, which is tailored to each client’s needs and integrates private assets pacing, liquidity risks, physical climate risks, low-carbon transition impacts, and associated market pricing responses into strategic decision-making. As you gain experience, you’ll conduct ALM studies and advise major institutional investors on risk management, actuarial funding policies, and strategic investment decisions. You’ll also contribute to innovation projects and help shape our evolving solutions.

Requirements

  • Interest in financial markets and a basic understanding of how pension funds operate.
  • Curiosity to further develop knowledge of how Asset Liability Management supports these objectives.
  • Approach work with care and consistency.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic environment.
  • Interested in developing both technical and client-facing skills across a variety of projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Sciences, Financial Engineering or an exact science (e.g. Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics).
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English.
